Your Teacher

David Barrett is 53 years old and is a dance instructor who has been dancing from a very young age. In 1979 David first started going to beginners dance classes at Betty Croasdale School of Dancing in Burnley. Quickly moving on to intermediate classes, then advanced classes with a fast show of skill. It was not long before the budding dance star took his students exam before graduating as a first class teacher and teaching the lessons and classes himself.

1984 David qualified with the (UKA). And by 1990 was persuaded by his parents and friends to open his own Dance school, as his skill to teach others was apparent to see. This was the best dance move of his life and he never looked back. During this time David qualified with the (IDTA) and Allied Societies. The school proved 20 years of success and often welcomed stars performing at some of his venues, including Paul and Elaine Bottomer and the current world champions of the argentine tango, Darren Bennett and Lilia Copalova.
2010 came the formation of his new school “The Stepping Out Dance Centre” which has now seen a former ballroom and dance hall back to its former glory
